Verein Bürgerschaft Hellerau e.V.

The Bürgerverein Hellerau eV, which currently has around 140 members, has set itself the goal of promoting the coexistence of Hellerau's citizens, representing the interests of the citizenry and working actively on the further development of the garden city idea.

Our regular activities include:

• Event of the children's festival, usually at the Gondler or at the Waldschänke
• Festive installation of the Christmas tree on the market square
• Publication of the "Notifications for Hellerau" (subscription is free for members of the association)
• Organization of cultural events (readings, excursions, visits, discussions, etc.)
• Working groups on various subject areas (see corresponding menu item)
• Maintenance and further development of our leased area "Naturraum Hellerau" on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße
• Maintaining contact with offices and authorities in order to protect the interests of the citizens of Hellerau and to promote the preservation and further development of the town
• Cooperation with other Hellerau associations and institutions, in particular with the Waldschänke Hellerau community center
• Support for the application for World Heritage Helleraus by the association of the same name
• Exchange of experiences and cooperation with other garden cities in Europe
• The practical work of the association is carried out either by the working groups or by the board.
