Eigen Haard was founded in 1909 to provide better housing for workers. The corporation now not only rents social housing, but also houses for sale and business premises. The Eigen Haard foundation is an institution recognised by the central government as a housing corporation. As such, Eigen Haard should only carry out activities in the interest of public housing.
