Description
The GWL terrain is the product of a unique partnership of municipality, corporations and residents. They realized the car-free eco-neighborhood GWLterrein in 1997. A special feature of the neighborhood is that an umbrella association of homeowners began monitoring the neighborhood's sustainable design from the beginning. And this is still the case after 25 years. Owner-occupiers and tenants of the GWL terrain are compulsory members of the Koepelvereniging GWL terrain through their VvE or corporation and contribute financially to it. The result is a relatively large involvement of residents in the management of the neighborhood. This involvement is stronger than in most other neighborhoods. It manifests itself in numerous resident initiatives, especially in green space.
